A Pinellas county Florida native, Steve returned to the St Pete area in 2017 after 12 years in Boulder, Colorado where he met his spouse Haley at CU. He and Haley settled in North Kenwood with their two rescue Wheaten Terriers, Piper and Daisy. Steven has served as the NKNA President since 2019 and was Vice President of the association prior to that. Passionate for civic involvement, Steven participated in the 2018 Council of Neighborhood Associations Leadership Program, and observed behind-the-scenes workings of local government as well as networked with other neighborhood and community leaders. He also serves on St Petersburg's Complete Streets Advisory Committee which is dedicated to improving city street infrastucture and design so that all modes of trasportation can funtion safely and efficiently around town.
James and his partner, Eddie Montez moved to St Petersburg FL 22 years ago from San Jose CA. James is a native of Sunnyside, NY. Their home in North Kenwood is rounded off with their 'family', all rescues. First is senior Puggle, Bailey; next a Blue Heeler, Hope (another senior); and lastly a Lab/Pit mix Rocco. James and Eddie are just second owners of their home and much of the property is still original to 1951 and strive to keep the mid-century theme. Over the years James has been active with the Association in differing capacities from member to Vice President. He is excited the Association has grown with new individuals and their talents. James really likes living on 26th St and strives to know as many neighbors on a first name basis as is allowable.

Melanie has lived in or around North Kenwood her whole life. The house she currently lives in has been in her family since the 40's. She just opened a little shop on St. Pete Beach called Fresh Factory so between that, basketball practices, the gym and kids bday parties, she is constantly running around with her hair on fire =). She also sits on the board of directors for Great Explorations Children's Museum on 4th street for the past four years. She's pretty stellar at pool and chess and loves riding bikes from the neighborhood to downtown St Pete on the weekends for lunch at her family's restaurant, Pin Wok and Bowl, or to check out the Saturday Morning Market.
